About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with hands‑on experience in plastic injection moulding machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of all injection moulding machines, auxiliary systems, and supporting equipment used in plastic manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform corrective maintenance on plastic injection moulding machines, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to schedules to ensure consistent moulding quality and minimize machine downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair moulding‑related equipment such as mould heaters, chillers, dryers, robots, conveyors, and material handling systems.
- Carry out electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including motors, heaters, sensors, control panels, wiring, and PLC‑related components.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with Malaysian electrical safety regulations and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) guidelines.
- Maintain accurate spare parts inventory management, ensuring critical components for injection moulding equipment are available.
- Assist with mould changeovers, machine setup, calibration, and performance optimisation.
- Work closely with production teams to address moulding issues and support continuous process improvement.
- Document maintenance activities and machine performance in the maintenance management system.
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures related to plastic injection moulding environments.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a plastic injection moulding manufacturing facility.
- Strong working knowledge of plastic injection moulding machines (e.g., hydraulic, electric, hybrid), moulds, and auxiliary equipment.
- Proven experience in corrective and preventive maintenance within a plastics production environment.
- Hands‑on experience in electrical repairs and troubleshooting, including motor controls, relays, contactors, sensors, and heating systems.
- Familiarity with Malaysian electrical standards; possession of a Wireman or Chargeman certification (e.g., PW2, PW3, PW4, A0, A1, A4) is an added advantage.
- Experience in spare part inventory management for moulding machines and related systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Willingness to work shift schedules (including nights/weekends depending on rotation).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
- Understanding of moulding process parameters, cycle optimisation, and quality troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of TPM, lean maintenance, or 5S practices.
- Basic PLC fault diagnosis (FCS, Haitian, LK).

Competitive salary: RM2,500 – RM3,750 (commensurate with experience)
