The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive and efficient plans for all maintenance activities, ensuring optimal resource allocation, minimizing equipment downtime, and maximizing operational readiness. This role is crucial in translating maintenance requirements into actionable job plans, managing spare parts, and ensuring data integrity within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support reliable plant operations.
Main Accountabilities
Maintenance Planning
- Manage the end-to-end work order process within the CMMS (SAP), from notification review and approval to work order release, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Develop comprehensive, detailed job plans including step-by-step work instructions, required resources (labor, materials, tools, equipment), estimated costs, and timeframes for both routine and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Conduct field verification and scope definition for maintenance work requests, incorporating safety requirements and best practices directly into job plans.
- Continuously solicit and integrate feedback from the maintenance execution team (supervisors, technicians) to refine and improve job plans and planning processes.
CMMS Data Management & Integrity
- Develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of the Master Equipment List and Bills of Material (BOMs) within the CMMS (SAP), including regular updates for new equipment, modifications, and management of change (MOC) processes.
- Update and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans and checklists within the CMMS (SAP) based on equipment performance, manufacturer recommendations, and reliability insights.Ensure meticulous documentation of all maintenance plans, procedures, historical work order data, and asset-related information within SAP.
Spare Parts & Material Management
- Manage the spare parts kitting process, coordinating closely with storeroom personnel and procurement to ensure kits are prepared accurately and on time, striving for continuous improvement in kitting efficiency.
- Perform initial spare parts analysis to identify criticality, recommend appropriate inventory levels, establish re-order points, and define maximum stock levels, developing appropriate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) profiles in SAP.
- Conduct regular reviews to identify obsolete or surplus spare parts, initiating and managing the scrap disposal process in accordance with company policies.
- Initiate and manage purchase requisitions for necessary parts, materials, and services, verifying receipts and processing goods/service confirmations in SAP.
Shutdown & Contractor Coordination
- Provide crucial planning support for plant shutdowns and turnarounds, including organizing preparatory meetings, developing detailed activity schedules, and tracking/reporting progress against the plan.
- Coordinate and oversee onsite contractor activities for planned maintenance or specific projects, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures, work specifications, and project timelines.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) discussions and other problem-solving initiatives to identify systemic maintenance issues and contribute to corrective action planning.
- Champion safety by ensuring all planned work adheres to established safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
- >3 years of experience in working experience
- Familiar with the maintenance actitivies for utilities supply system (steam, compressed air, water, gases), processing system equipped with rotating equipment, tanks, valves and pipelines, plus the industrial packing lines.
- Strong interpersonal skill and communication ability
- Familiar with Microsoft office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements
