The Maintenance manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of vendors/contractors, including the in‑house staff performing operation, maintenance, and repair on all facilities equipment.
Generating the annual maintenance schedule and delegating defined tasks to team members. The manager shall conduct site inspections and identify areas requiring additional maintenance works. Ensuring the safety of personnel, equipment and work carried out are part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of vendors/contractors and the in‑house staff performing operation, maintenance, and repair on all facilities equipment.
- Generating the annual maintenance schedule and delegating defined tasks to team members.
- Conducting site inspections and identifying areas requiring additional maintenance works.
- Ensuring the safety of personnel, equipment, and the work carried out.
- Working closely with the Senior Operation Manager to identify and implement a proactive, cost‑effective maintenance strategy that ensures maximum availability for the facilities.
- Creating a standard for maintenance procedures and checklists, ensuring scalability and sustainability.
- Providing strong critical‑environment technical skills and routine hands‑on operations and inspection work on critical facility systems and equipment in a critically operating environment.
- Protecting and improving the value of our assets and ensuring critical engineering systems reliably perform their intended function.
- Performing hands‑on operations, conducting equipment/system functional inspections, and troubleshooting prior to calling vendor/equipment supplier specialists on‑site.
- Demonstrating strong formal conduct of operations skills, technical expertise, personal accountability, and flawless execution of work activities in a highly critical environment, meeting exceptional customer satisfaction and confidence.
Qualifications
- Proficient in English through all mediums of communication; ability to write and review good quality detailed work scripts, methods of procedure, and standard operating procedures; prepare incident reports.
- Good knowledge of all laws that govern building management and maintenance, including building safety, emergency evacuation, and environmental protection.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a Data Centre environment or Hi‑tech factory/plant (e.g., semiconductor).
- Technical knowledge with hands‑on knowledge/experience and understanding of critical data centre systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.
- Proficient in computer applications and software, including commercial computerized maintenance management systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; requires working out of office hours as technical support, 24/7 support to site operation team, and onsite for incident support.
- Prior experience in people / team management.
