Position Overview

The Driver Leader is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient transportation of containerized cargo, while also supervise and coordination of the driver team. This role includes ensuring the timely completion of transportation task, communicating regularly with the Freight Manager, and stepping in to drive when other container truck drivers are unavailable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cargo Transport: Drive and operate container trucks as needed to deliver goods to designated locations, following specified routes and schedules.
  • Team Scheduling & Dispatch: Reasonably assign and schedule driver team to ensure transportation tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Reporting: Communicate transportation status, issues, and updates to the Freight Manager on a regular basis.
  • Cover Driving: Fill in for container truck drivers who are unable to work to maintain continuous operation.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine truck inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure vehicle reliability.
  • Loading/Unloading Support: Assist with cargo loading, unloading, and securing while working alongside warehouse staff to prevent damage.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain transportation documents, including waybills, delivery notes, and checklists.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all drivers follow road safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Team Communication: Maintain clear communication with drivers, dispatchers, and logistics teams to monitor delivery progress and resolve issues.
Key Requirements
  • License: Valid heavy vehicle driver’s license: Class B2, GDL E-full (Bersendi) or regional equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a container truck driver.
  • Technical Skills: Basic vehicle maintenance and repair skills; knowledge of cargo securing methods.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of traffic laws, safety standards, and compliance requirements for heavy vehicles.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, assign tasks, and motivate a team of drivers.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong sense of responsibility, safety awareness, punctuality, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Safety-Oriented: Dedicated to upholding safety protocols and ensuring team compliance.
  • Time Management: Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing schedules, and meeting deadlines.
  • Team Coordination: Skilled in communicating clearly and coordinating between drivers, managers, and warehouse teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Able to respond quickly to operational disruptions and implement solutions.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to drive for extended periods and participate in loading/unloading as needed.
