A logistics company is looking for a proactive Logistics Assistant Manager in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. The successful candidate will oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, analyze costs for improvements, and implement process enhancements. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant Manager to oversee and optimize the company’s inbound and outbound logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing costing structures, improving logistical processes, and providing financially sound solutions to enhance overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee and coordinate all inbound (raw materials, supplies) and outbound (finished goods, deliveries) logistics activities.
Monitor shipment schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and warehouse teams to manage the full logistics cycle.
Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for savings.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling logistics expenses.
Ensure cost transparency and accuracy in all freight and logistics-related charges.
Continuously review logistics workflows and SOPs for efficiency.
Identify and implement improvements in warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
Leverage technology or automation where applicable to streamline operations.
Act as a key problem-solver for logistics challenges with a focus on financial viability.
Develop data-driven recommendations and cost-effective solutions for operational bottlenecks.
Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, planning, and finance teams.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferred working experience in bonded warehouse or shipping & logistic industry.
At least 8 years of working experience in logistics or supply chain, with supervisory experience preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in cost control and financial reasoning.
Agile and ability to react to changes in handling situations.
Knowledge of logistics software, ERP systems, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Experience in manufacturing or FMCG industry is an added advantage.
Familiarity with customs, import/export documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to lead a small team and collaborate effectively across departments.
