The ISKL libraries recognize and promote the benefits of lifelong reading and learning for all members of the school community. The library is a vital component of the school curriculum, supporting students in developing their literacy, critical thinking, and ethical use of information.
Responsibilities
- Library Client Services and Wellbeing – The Library Assistant provides services and assistance to visitors and supervises students to maintain an amiable space. This may include reception duties, circulation and upkeep of books and equipment, communication about library materials, signage, managing study rooms, and coordinating with facilities about maintenance.
- Library Records and Catalog Maintenance – The Library Assistant is responsible for daily library operations by following established practice, policies, and guidelines, including material circulation, documentation and record‑keeping, cataloging, and repairing items digitally and physically.
- Library Promotion and Communication – The Library Assistant supports the library team to promote library resources, services, and events, including planning and designing displays.
- MS and HS Textbooks and Class Materials – The Library Assistant works with the library team to catalog and label textbooks and class materials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in communication and protocol, both in person and digitally.
- Proficiency in using a library management system, databases, and commonly used productivity tools.
- Firm knowledge and practice of library ethos, missions, data management, and cataloging practices.

Qualifications and experience preferred
- A Certificate or Diploma in Library Science, Information Management, or similar.
- Experience working in a library or school environment.
- Experience with Destiny Library Manager and Google Workspace.
