A leading education provider in Malaysia is seeking a Clinical Instructor to supervise nursing students during their clinical placements across the country. The role includes assessing student performance, providing continuous feedback, and maintaining professionalism during placements. Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor's/Master's degree with relevant certifications, along with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience and 1 year of teaching experience. Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office is essential.
Assist in students' recruitment by advising and providing current, complete and accurate information;
To conduct curriculum and program evaluations continually using continuous process and assessment;
To lead activities related to accreditation;
To give lectures for respective subjects within the program;
To cross-teach with other programs if services are needed;
Coordinate tutorial sessions for students;
To prepare "table of specifications" for examination questions;
To moderate questions papers prepared by lecturers before submission to Exam Department;
To check and sign students' log books achievements each semester after placement;
To compile exam marks and submit them to Exam Unit;
To monitor students' attendance and absenteeism;
To assist in student affairs matters (discipline, attitude and morals);
To maintain a neat, well-organized and safe work environment;
To assist Head of Department in developing the meeting agenda;
To monitor students' involvement with extracurricular programs;
To undertake any reasonable ad hoc assignments as may be directed by the immediate superior from time to time;
Monitor students' academic progress; and
Be a member of the curriculum development committee.
Job Descriptions - Clinical Instructor
Accompany and supervise students during clinical placements in hospitals and healthcare facilities across Malaysia (maybe required to rotate from state to state)
Coach and assess students on nursing procedures and practical competencies at clinical sites.
Monitor and evaluate student performance through regular checks of clinical logbooks and assessment forms.
Provide continuous feedback and hands-on guidance to students in executing clinical tasks.
Ensure students maintain professionalism, discipline, and safety during placements.
Act as a liaison between the institution and clinical site personnel to coordinate student rotations and address any arising issues.
Support the mental and physical well-being of students during clinical postings, addressing any concerns or emergencies.
Prepare reports and documentation related to student progress and placement performance.
Qualifications
At lease a Bachelor's/Masters degree in the related fields;
Possess a Post Basic in Midwifery;
Have valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from Nursing Board;
Possess 3 years working experiences as Staff Nurse;
At least 1 year of teaching experience in Diploma/Post Basic program;
Fluent in spoken and written English;
Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and use of computers;
