Job summary

A global medical technologies company in Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking a candidate to support R&D projects by conducting testing, assembly, and documentation. Key responsibilities include maintaining lab equipment, producing quality prototypes, and ensuring proper documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with experience in laboratory environments. Knowledge of CAD software is advantageous. Qualifications

• A diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in engineering, laboratory testing, R&D, or manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in testing, assembly, prototyping, and documentation for R&D projects.
• Maintain machines and equipment in the R&D lab.
• Coordinate calibration, preventive maintenance, and verification for lab machines.
• Produce quality prototypes for evaluation.
• Prepare work instructions for all lab machines.

Position Summary

• To provide support in conducting testing, assembly, prototyping, and documentation for all R&D projects.
• Responsible for maintaining the machines and equipment in the R&D lab.
• To coordinate calibration, preventive maintenance, and machine verification for all machines/equipment in the R&D lab.
• To support in producing quality (both functional and aesthetic) prototypes for evaluation.
• To prepare work instructions for all machines/equipment in the R&D lab.
• To support in producing jigs and fixtures used for engineering testing, new product assembly, etc.
• To provide accurate results and proper reports of testing conducted.
• To keep proper and accurate records as outlined by the immediate superior.
• To ensure proper housekeeping and tidiness of the R&D lab.
• Perform any other relevant and related responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time as required by the superior.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Science, or equivalent.
• Working experience in engineering and laboratory testing, R&D, or a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software will be an advantage.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Must be able to communicate (written and verbal) in English and Malay.
• Good knowledge in Engineering and Laboratory Testing, Jig and Fixture, etc.
