Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles and practices, as well as experience leading and managing technical teams. The Java Developer Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development of our software products, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

Java Developer Lead will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail. Documentation is essential for the sustained growth of digital products.

This role will also coordinate the relationship between the rest of the IT development team in order to be aligned with technology, security and technical requirements. Expected to work with departments like Product, IT, Analytics and UX.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers.
• Help in the process of development for the Consumer Services web applications, improving existing features of the product and working on new features as we continue to scale.
• Ensure that products are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
• Reduce friction and enhance communication between technical and product teams.
• Monitor the activities and estimations from the development team.
• Ensure the right documentation for future product development.
• Ensuring code quality and standards while meeting deadlines and delivering targets set by the product team.
• Set technical standards and guidelines.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends.
• Communication skills to participate in the product development cycle.
• Work closely with product managers and data analysts to improve the overall product, work with the design team to improve the user experience, and collaborate with the front‑end team for design implementation.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Preference for those certified in Java Certification.

• Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
• Experience with a variety of programming languages and technologies.

• Experienced in JAVA, J2EE, Struts, SPRING, SPRING MVC, Spring batch, Spring boot, ANGULAR, BOOTSTRAP, JSP CSS, Hibernate, JPA and SQL databases.
• Experienced in SOAP/REST web services.
• Experienced in continuous delivery and automation testing.
• Ability to manage mid‑to‑large size product development and launch projects.
• Facilitate effective communication and teamwork between internal teams and external partners/vendors.
