A leading distribution company in Penang is seeking an IT Manager to oversee its digital transformation. The role focuses on ERP and CRM system implementations, management of IT operations, and ensuring data security. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in IT, possess 5–8 years of experience in IT with supervisory skills, and have a strong background in ERP systems and cybersecurity. This position includes responsibilities for managing technical issues and leading the IT team, along with occasional local travel.

The IT Manager / Assistant IT Manager will play a strategic role in the company’s digital transformation journey, focusing on evaluating, sourcing, and implementing a unified ERP and CRM system to integrate core business functions — including sales, inventory, invoicing, and delivery tracking.
This position is responsible for ensuring that technology supports business growth, enhances efficiency, and enables data-driven decision-making through dashboards and process automation.
Oversee the company’s overall IT operations, systems, and infrastructure.
Lead the end-to-end ERP implementation, including requirement gathering, system configuration coordination, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support.
Work with internal departments to map and optimize business processes for ERP readiness.
Coordinate with ERP vendors and consultants to ensure timely project delivery.
Manage daily IT support, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure smooth system performance.
Maintain and update IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure data security, access control, backups, and cybersecurity measures are in place.
Manage system integrations, upgrades, enhancements, and software licenses.
Oversee networks, servers, hardware, software, and cloud platforms.
Supervise and guide the IT team to deliver efficient user support.
Handle IT project planning, budgeting, procurement, and vendor management.
Ensure compliance with company standards, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide training to end users when needed.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve system performance and business efficiency.
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
5–8 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in ERP implementation or administration (required).
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud services.
Good leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Occasional local travel is required for this position.
