PEC is an international technology supplier, committed to enable the production of green batteries for a Blue Planet. We are looking for an HR Generalist to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is based at our new site in Penang, Malaysia. By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Asia, Europe and the United States.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to manage all HR matters for our Malaysia office. This role is responsible for end-to-end HR operations, ensuring compliance with local labour laws, supporting business leaders and fostering a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, shortlisting, interviews. Coordinate smooth onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Payroll & HR Administration: Prepare and verify monthly payroll inputs, working closely with our payroll provider. Administer employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.
  • Compliance & Labour Law: Ensure HR practices comply with Malaysian labour laws, statutory requirements, and company policies. Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters and dispute resolution in line with regulations.
  • General HR Support: Advise managers and employees on HR policies and procedures. Lead HR projects and initiatives to support company culture and engagement. Serve as the primary point of contact for local HR matters.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field
  • 3 – 5 years of experience as an HR generalist/HR BP
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act and related labour laws
  • Proven ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, and compliance matters.
  • Result driven, aiming for success in a competitive recruitment world
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
