The HR Data Governance & Automation function manages the development and governance of the HR data and information strategy to facilitate business decisions and foster growth across the East Asia & Pacific region, encompassing 15 countries and approximately ~15,500 employees in total.
Overall, the function is responsible for:
Designing & Implementing an HR Data Strategy and Projects;
- HR Data Governance and Quality Assurance;
- Data Management;
- Business Intelligence; and
- Analytics
The HR Data & Reporting Specialist plays a dual role in ensuring data integrity and governance across HR systems while designing and delivering business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable insights and automated reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Stewardship & Governance
- Maintain data quality standards across HR systems (HRIS, Payroll, etc.)
- Developing and implementing strategies & solutions that optimize process efficiency and data quality in HR systems
- Providing functional & technical support to users by troubleshooting problems related to data in HR systems
- Implement data governance frameworks, including validation rules and audit processes
- Partner with HR stakeholders to educate and enforce data entry best practices
- Support integration processes between HR systems and downstream applications (e.g., payroll, benefits, platforms)
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain HR dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Automate recurring reports and streamline manual processes to improve efficiency
- Collaborate with HR leaders to define KPIs and metrics aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare data extracts and analytics for compliance, audits, and external vendors.
- Evaluating the data collection process to ensure efficiency and integrity
- Gathering & Processing raw data at scale
- Working closely with Payroll, Data Operations & Rewards teams to drive innovation in managing and processing HR data
- Support business requirements with ad hoc analysis as needed
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in HR, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
- 3+ years experience in HR data management and reporting
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Experience using MS SQL Server to write scripts, SQL queries, create tables etc
- Excellent communication skills to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Strong understanding of HR processes, data concepts (models) and systems
- Experience with processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources
- Analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of problem solving, root cause analysis
- Knowledge of data governance principles and compliance requirements
