Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum SPM / Diploma (preferably in Administration, Facilities Management, or related field).
- At least 3 years’ experience as a hostel warden.
- Knowledge of Act 446 and JTK inspection processes is highly preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively with workers, management, and government officers.
- Willing to be on‑call for hostel‑related emergencies.
- Experience handling foreign workers’ accommodation is an advantage.
- Familiar with documentation, inspections, and government compliance procedures.
Job Purpose
To oversee the daily operations, safety, discipline, and welfare of workers residing in company‑provided hostel, ensuring the hostel is well‑managed, safe, and compliant with relevant labour and accommodation requirements, including liaison with authorities where necessary.
Key Responsibilities

Hostel & Occupant Management
- Oversee daily hostel operations, including room allocation and occupancy control.
- Ensure hostel rules and regulations are followed by all workers.
- Handle workers complaints and disputes in a fair and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of occupants, including employee details and room assignments.

Act 446 Compliance & JTK Liaison
- Ensure workers’ accommodation complies with Act 446 requirements.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor applications for Act 446 certification/approval with JTK.
- Act as the main liaison with JTK officers during inspections, audits, or investigations.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly following JTK inspection findings or notices.
- Maintain all statutory documents, approvals, inspection reports, and correspondence related to Act 446.

Safety, Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections of hostel facilities to identify safety, hygiene, or maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with internal teams or external vendors for repairs, cleaning, pest control, and maintenance works.
- Ensure basic amenities are in good working condition.
- Report and escalated any health, safety, or structural risks immediately.

Welfare & Wellbeing
- Monitor the general wellbeing of workers and report serious concerns to HR or Management.
- Assist in managing emergencies (e.g. illness, accidents, conflicts, or evacuations).
- Promote a safe, respectful, and harmonious living environment for all workers.

Reporting & Administration
- Prepare regular reports on hostel occupancy, compliance status, incidents, and improvement actions.
- Support HR and Management in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Perform other duties related to workers’ accommodation as assigned by Management.
