The Head of Marketing leads MNC Automotive Industry overall marketing strategy in Malaysia, setting the long-term brand vision and driving sustainable business growth. This senior leadership role is responsible for delivering marketing excellence across all channels, markets, and dealer touchpoints, ensuring strong brand presence and commercial impact. Working closely with regional HQ, local teams, and external partners, the role plays a critical part in scaling MNC Automotive Industry as a leading electric vehicle brand in the market.
Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Define and lead Malaysia’s overall marketing strategy in alignment with regional brand direction and business goals.
- Drive brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies to build awareness, consideration, and preference for MNC Automotive Industry EVs in Malaysia.
- Lead large-scale brand campaigns, PR initiatives, media partnerships, and roadshows (e.g. auto expos, launches, lifestyle events).
- Ensure consistent brand expression across all consumer and dealer touchpoints, in adherence to HQ brand and creative guidelines.
- Identify local market opportunities, consumer trends, and competitive insights to inform marketing strategy and campaign planning.
- Translate market insights into actionable initiatives that support sales growth, EV adoption, and long-term brand equity.
- Partner closely with Sales and Operations teams to align marketing efforts with commercial priorities.
- Provide strategic oversight of dealer marketing across Malaysia to ensure consistent, high-quality execution.
- Establish and maintain dealer marketing frameworks, standards, and best practices to drive showroom traffic and lead generation.
- Review and endorse dealer marketing proposals, working with HQ to secure approvals where required and ensure responsible use of support funds.
- Monitor dealer marketing performance and recommend improvements to maximize effectiveness.
- Build, lead, mentor, and develop the Malaysia marketing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high-quality execution.
- Act as the primary marketing liaison between Malaysia and Singapore HQ, ensuring alignment, clear communication, and timely reporting.
- Manage and collaborate with external agencies, media partners, and event organizers to deliver impactful campaigns.
- Budget & Performance Management
- Own and manage the Malaysia marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and strong return on investment.
- Define and track marketing KPIs across brand campaigns, digital channels, events, and dealer activations.
- Present performance reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management and HQ to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive marketing experience, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience in developing large-scale brand campaigns and event marketing.
- Strong track record in managing dealer or distributor marketing, preferable across multiple locations or territories.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience in the automotive, retail, or lifestyle sectors is highly advantageous.
