A leading retail company in Selangor is seeking a seasoned financial manager to oversee financial planning, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the retail sector, a degree in Accountancy, and strong communication and leadership skills. You will be responsible for establishing financial controls, managing budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering relationships with stakeholders. This position promises a dynamic role in a reputable firm.
Oversee and drive all facets of the yearly financial planning cycle, monthly reporting and strategic planning
Establish and ensure effective controls and process documentation in supporting financial business processes
Consolidation of functional budgets, cash flow projections, AP/AR, financial reporting, general ledgers, forecasting, budget management for Management’s review
Ensure compliance to risk management policies and standards established by regulators and the Group
Stakeholder management - good relationship with the investment community, government bodies, professional bodies etc.
Ensure compliance with all accounting & reporting requirements, at all levels of operations
Ensure efficient financial and operating controls for the group including internal audit and controls
Verify compliance with financial statutory norms, internal processes, procedures and controls
Responsible for taxation and any other statutory compliance related matters including statutory accounts preparation and tax submission
Review, monitor and implement internal controls and checks for effective payment mechanism
Liaison with auditor, tax consultants and bankers on credit facilities
Involved in recruitment, training and development of key finance talents
Master/Degree in Accountancy or any equivalent professional qualification
Minimum 5 years of working experience in retail industry
Strong business acumen and good working knowledge/exposure in retail industry
Meticulous, eye for details, solid understanding of financial management with in depth knowledge of financial processes
Ability to build consensus and foster superior business relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Adroit communication skills - spoken & written, interpersonal skills and adept presentation skills – especially in report presentation
Excellent people management skills with influential leadership skills
