Epsom College in Malaysia seeks an inspirational, effective, experienced Head of Art and Design Technology for commencement in August 2026.
The successful candidate will teach Art and Design Technology at Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A‑Level. Job Purpose
- Provide clear, strategic direction and leadership for the Art and Design Technology curriculum to ensure consistently high‑quality teaching.
- Ensure all students make at least expected progress and have ambitious targets across Key Stages.
- Implement differentiated schemes of work for all Key Stages.
- Develop and sustain an innovative, progressive curriculum for Art, Design, and Design Technology, supported by an engaging enrichment programme.
- Deliver robust performance management, celebrate best practice, support professional development, and ensure accountability for all staff within Art and Design Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of Art and Design Technology across the College.
- Inspire and enthuse the Art and Design Technology team with a clear vision for the future.
- Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure the highest standards across the curriculum area.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety in lessons and preparation areas.
- Lead the development of differentiated schemes of work at KS3, IGCSE, and A Level to ensure every student makes progress.
- Stay up-to-date with subject development and participate in relevant CPD, disseminating learnings to staff.
- Lead the Faculty’s strategic planning and self‑evaluation processes.
- Provide regular reports on student performance based on internal assessments and externally verified exam results; plan effective interventions as appropriate.
- Promote and lead the delivery of all extra‑cultural activities in Art and Design Technology.
- Model high standards of professionalism in all leadership aspects.
- Coordinate resources and provide support and guidance to relevant staff.
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
- Manage examination entries and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to wider college policy making as appropriate.
- Lead and/or participate in the College’s enrichment programme to prepare students for ambitious university applications and interviews.
- Identify students with additional educational needs, gifts and talents, and EAL concerns; ensure timely reporting to the Line Manager. Curriculum Management
- Design an appropriate and progressive curriculum that reflects the College ethos and meets all students’ needs.
- Ensure teaching and learning meet the needs of all students, including those with additional needs and the gifted and talented.
- Keep abreast of new initiatives and integrate them into the Art and Design Technology strategy where appropriate.
- Incorporate assessment into all aspects of curriculum planning.
