Position: Head of Analytics & Market Intelligence

Subordinate Functions: 4+
Reports to: Director – Procurement Centre of Excellence
Function: Group Procurement

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: University Degree level, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data science with a strong background in SQL, data visualization, cloud platforms, Python, SAC, and Power BI.
Job Purpose
  • Strategic Decision Support: Provide actionable insights to guide executive decision-making. Align analytics initiatives with functional and business objectives and KPI’s.
  • Data Governance and Quality: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulations. Establish data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and monitor a team of data analysts, data scientists, and BI professionals. Foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Business Process Owner (BPO), Master data team, IT, and external agencies to identify analytics and business intelligence needs. Translate functional and business problems into analytical solutions.
  • Innovation and competitive advantage: Leverage advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, predictive modelling) to uncover new opportunities. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Main Accountabilities
  • Design, build and drive overall Analytics strategy, methodology, and roadmap for the processes, systems, tools, and capabilities required to execute and maintain core data assets.
  • Team Leadership & Hiring: Lead the recruitment and setup of a high‑performing data analytics team, ensuring the right mix of skills, experience, and capabilities. Mentor and guide team members to ensure continuous development and high performance.
  • Data Exploration & Insights Generation: Drive the exploration of large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights that will influence business strategies and decisions.
  • Data Manipulation: Oversee the development of complex queries, e.g., SQL, for data extraction, cleaning, and transformation. Ensure best practices are adhered to when querying and working with data.
  • Visualization & Reporting: Lead the creation of impactful visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or others to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization to support key decision making.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with local markets and business leaders to understand their needs and identify data opportunities that drive business growth and operational efficiencies. Work with cross‑functional teams including data analysts, data engineers/scientists and business stakeholders to define, develop and execute data strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Strategic Insights & Recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations based on data insights (internal and external, e.g., ICIS, Platt etc) that influence key decisions across the organization. Be a trusted advisor to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement plans for business/market intelligence activities to identify trends that can help departments, managers, and executives make business decisions, i.e., modernise and improve the data‑related processes and business in the Corporation.
  • Team Management: Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the analytics team, ensuring high levels of collaboration, accountability, and performance.
  • Lead data stewardship and master data governance for procurement.
  • Develop data science capabilities and coordinate cross‑functional analytics initiatives.
  • Promote a data‑driven culture and support staff training in data systems.
  • Maintain and analyze the Procurement Spend Map for value opportunities.
  • Monitor procurement compliance by analyzing commercial deals against market benchmarks and enforcing decision‑making frameworks.
  • Perform additional relevant tasks as assigned.
