Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the roasting process based on production needs and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain roasting profiles to meet quality standards and customer experience.
- Ensure consistency, flavor integrity, and quality across all roasts.
- Perform sample roasting and assist in coffee evaluation and sourcing decisions.
- Oversee regular maintenance of roasting equipment and production areas.
- Schedule and coordinate repairs and service when needed.
- Collaborate with the production team to continuously improve quality and sensory standards.
- Assist in creating new products, blends, and limited releases based on seasonality and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience roasting specialty coffee, ideally with a leadership role preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of coffee sourcing, processing and brewing methods.
- Strong cupping and evaluation skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess and improve product quality.
- Familiarity with production scheduling and inventory systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for specialty coffee, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Proficiency in using roasting software and equipment.
- Able to work as a team.
- Must be willing to work on shifts (retail hours) / weekends and public holidays.
