Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our cosmetic business operations. Reporting directly to the company's executive leadership, the General Manager will play a vital role in setting and executing the company's strategic vision, managing resources, optimising processes, and building a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies and plans that align with the company's vision and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Collaborate with the executive team to define and refine the company's short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
- Accountable for working closely with the Head of Finance to create and manage annual budgets, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow of the business.
- Responsible for the achievement of operational and financial results - both top (revenue) and bottom (profitability) lines.
- Operations Management
- Oversee and optimize day-to-day operations across all functional areas, including production, supply chain, research and development, marketing, sales, and customer service.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Develop systems, policies and procedures to enhance productivity, cost effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage various departments such as R&D / Product Development, Production and Logistics as well as Sales and Marketing.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement throughout the organization to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to develop and execute effective strategies to expand market share and increase sales revenue.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of recent senior experience in General Management of a Retail Wholesale Distribution channel of consumer goods i.e. Cosmetics, Fragrance, Skin Care Products.
- Ideally educated to Degree level in or an MBA from a recognized institution.
- Proficient in all MS Office Applications and digitally savvy.
- Outstanding communication skills with excellent command of English and Malay (spoken) is highly preferred.
- Strong business acumen and strong interpersonal skills for internal & external relationship building.
- A good understanding of the retail or wholesale distribution channel is essential.
- Strong financial management experience with the ability to develop and achieve budgets and targets.
- Excellent people skills, negotiation and consensus-building skills and the ability to work in an environment which requires flexibility and adaptability.
