Role Overview

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead and oversee the finance function as the company moves into a more structured and professional phase. This is a senior role requiring strong judgement, financial control, and the ability to guide the finance team while supporting management in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily finance operations and provide professional guidance to Senior Accountants and the accounts team.
  • Review and approve high-value transactions, including vessel-related costing and complex financial entries.
  • Ensure accuracy and proper control of accounts, bank reconciliations, and AP/AR management.
  • Manage cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis for management.
  • Develop and strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and basic risk management procedures.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and key suppliers on finance-related matters.
  • Handle financial disputes, unusual transactions, and non-routine cases.
  • Consolidate weekly and monthly financial information for management review.
  • Train, guide, and upskill accounting staff to improve overall team capability.
  • Improve workflow efficiency and resolve operational issues within the finance team.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting/finance, including 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience handling high-volume transactions.
  • Able to manage pressure, resolve complex issues, and provide clear guidance to the team.
  • Comfortable working in an owner-managed business environment.
  • Experience in trading, logistics, marine, oil & gas, or related industries is an advantage.
