Job summary

A leading technology company in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a tax specialist responsible for accuracy in tax compliance across the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will manage tax accounting, ensure tax compliance, and assist in tax audits. A degree in Accounting or Finance, along with at least 3 years of experience in the tax field, is required. Proficiency in local and international tax knowledge, as well as Microsoft Office tools, is essential. A strong sense of responsibility and excellent interpersonal skills are expected.

Job description

Responsible for tax matters in countries and regions within the Asia‑Pacific area, and accountable for the accuracy of tax compliance and process adherence.

Independently in charge of tax environment insight and policy research, and assist countries in managing external changes and implementation.

Assist in managing country tax compliance, including income tax, value‑added tax or withholding tax determination and filing management, to ensure external compliance.

Assist in managing tax accounting and ensure the accuracy of financial reports.

Assist the tax manager in completing tax risk management, tax audit management, and tax planning.

Ensure the accuracy of tax calculation and avoid negative events such as tax delay and large amount tax adjustments.

Other ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the line manager.

Candidates must possess at least a degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.

Preferable candidates with at least 3 years of working experience and above in the tax field.

Proficient in local direct tax and indirect tax knowledge; understand the basic knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing and the basic knowledge of accounting and financial report analysis.

Be able to provide basic tax solutions, with excellent interpersonal skills and as a fast learner.

Have a strong sense of responsibility for tax compliance, and be able to proactively undertake challenging tasks of the department.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced professional services environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
