A prominent healthcare provider in Malaysia seeks a dynamic Finance Leader to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and provide strategic guidance. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accountancy, with at least 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in the retail industry. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is required. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur with mandatory travel to HQ in Sarawak.
This role is integral to ensuring that the Group's financial operations are conducted smoothly and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The role required to provide the financial expertise necessary to support both day-to-day operations and long‑term strategic planning. The responsibilities include:
Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies that support the organization’s long‑term goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to guide decision‑making.
Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Drive financial performance by identifying and analyzing key financial metrics and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Foster a culture of financial accountability across the organization by promoting awareness of financial objectives and encouraging cost management initiatives.
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and MFRS.
Analyze financial results and provide in-depth analysis to the executive team, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure the integrity of financial data by maintaining robust financial controls and implementing necessary improvements to reporting processes.
Present financial results to the Board of Directors, shareholders, and other key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of financial performance.
Ensure the organization’s compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Lead the development and enforcement of financial policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Manage the organization’s risk exposure by identifying potential financial risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, and other financial institutions, ensuring all compliance obligations are met.
Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and tax management.
Ensure efficient cash flow management by monitoring liquidity, managing working capital, and optimizing treasury functions.
Lead the financial aspects of major corporate initiatives, such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital projects, ensuring financial due diligence and integration.
Implement and manage the organization’s financial systems and ERP software to support efficient financial operations and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in accountancy with professional accreditation from ACCA, MIA, or an equivalent recognized body.
Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience, ideally within the retail industry, including several years of leading and managing large teams.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves leader who is actively involved in the day‑to‑day operations and not afraid to dive deep into the details when needed.
Proven ability to lead and develop a sizeable finance team, comprising: 3 direct managerial reports, 2 team leads, 30 indirect executives.
Strong track record in providing strategic guidance, fostering high performance, and supporting professional growth within teams.
Sound knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards, Bursa listing requirements, and the relevant statutory requirements.
Ability to speak Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin fluently to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
Working location at Lake Field Sungai Besi, Monthly travelling to HQ Sarawak is mandatory.
