About the role

This is a full-time Finance Manager position within the manufacturing sector, based in Batu Berendam, Melaka. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, budgeting, and strategic decision‑making.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and execute financial management accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely period‑end close.
  • Establish and maintain a standard product costing system and inventory control framework.
  • Perform periodic scrap audits and monthly reviews of excess/obsolete inventory; provide root‑cause analysis and recommendations.
  • Manage monthly COGS reconciliation and variance analysis.
  • Oversee and prepare monthly financial and management reports.
  • Prepare semi‑annual consolidation reports in accordance with group reporting timelines.
  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts; implement monthly budgetary controls with variance tracking and corrective actions.
  • Manage treasury operations including cash flow planning, liquidity management, and funding arrangements; optimise working capital.
  • Oversee the company’s yearly income tax submission, coordinating with external advisors and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Formulate, update, and enforce the company’s financial policies, SOPs, and internal controls to strengthen governance.
  • Review general ledger, trial balance, and other financial reports; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely closing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or professional qualification (e.g., CPA / CA / ACCA / CMA) preferred.
  • 7–12 years of experience in cost accounting / management accounting, ideally in manufacturing or operations‑centric environments.
  • Strong knowledge of COGS reconciliation, standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and treasury operations.
