Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a skilled Finance professional to manage standard costing and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include preparing manufacturing cost reports, analyzing variances, and supporting financial audits. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of ERP systems are essential for success in this role, which offers opportunities for independent work and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update standard costing, ensuring accuracy of material, labor, and manufacturing overhead costs.

Work closely with production departments to understand and analyze cost variances, including material variance, labor variance, and manufacturing overhead variance.

Prepare and analyze manufacturing cost reports, including inventory valuation, cost allocation, and cost variance analysis.

Support quotation and pricing analysis by providing relevant costing and financial data based on business or departmental requirements.

Responsible for stamp duty submissions and related administrative tasks, including preparation, coordination, and compliance with applicable regulations.

Assist the Finance team in managing treasury-related matters, including cash flow arrangements, fund utilization, and payment planning to ensure operational efficiency.

Support monthly closing, budgeting, and forecasting related to manufacturing costs.

Assist in internal and external audits by preparing costing and treasury documentation.

Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by immediate superior or management.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Min 3 years and above of relevant working experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing finance is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
