Responsibilities

Petsmore Sdn Bhd is a fast-growing pet retail and services group specializing in pet food, supplies, grooming, and related services. We operate across retail outlets, service centres, and ecommerce platforms — creating a dynamic environment where finance plays a critical role in supporting multi-channel sales, vendor management, and operational growth.

Role Summary

As Executive, Finance, you will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day processing of Accounts Payable (AP) functions, with additional involvement in Accounts Receivable (AR) activities. You will also provide direct support to the Assistant Manager, Finance in areas such as monthly closing, reconciliations, audits, and process improvements to ensure smooth financial operations across Petsmore’s retail and ecommerce business.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with POs/GRNs.
  • Prepare payment runs (online banking, cheques, GIRO) and ensure timely settlement of supplier accounts.
  • Maintain vendor records, track outstanding balances, and respond to supplier queries.
  • Verify staff expense claims and petty cash reimbursements in line with company policy.
Accounts Receivable
  • Issue invoices for B2B customers and ensure timely collection of receivables.
  • Reconcile POS, ecommerce, and online payment gateways to ensure accuracy of sales and collections.
  • Monitor AR ageing and follow up with customers for overdue payments.
Financial Support & Reporting
  • Assist the Assistant Manager, Finance with monthly closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
  • Support preparation of management reports and variance analysis.
  • Assist with audit schedules, documentation, and compliance checks.
  • Participate in stock/inventory reconciliation and reporting when required.
Process & Control Support
  • Help implement and maintain finance SOPs.
  • Support improvements in automation, accuracy, and efficiency of AP/AR workflows.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit trail.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes; exposure to AR preferred.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Proactive, responsible, and a strong team player.
  • Familiarity with POS/ecommerce and ERP systems will be an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 1–3 years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting, preferably in retail or trading industry.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships will also be considered.
