We are seeking a highly motivated Agriculture Fresh Graduate to support plantation operations and applied agricultural research activities. This role is field-intensive and hands‑on, requiring regular travel to plantation sites and active involvement in sampling, testing, and operational work.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, learning on the job, and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy practical fieldwork combined with analytical and research‑based tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Plantation & Field Operations
- Travel regularly to plantation sites (e.g. durian orchards, oil palm estates) to support field activities
- Conduct hands‑on fieldwork, including soil, leaf, fruit, and water sampling
- Assist in day‑to‑day plantation monitoring, data collection, and observation
- Liaise with plantation workers and site personnel to ensure proper execution of field tasks
- Set standard procedures for sample collection, packaging, transportation, storage and record keeping
- Coordinate with external labs regarding specific requirements for sample submission
- Prepare samples for external laboratory tests and field measurements (with training where applicable)
- Act as caretaker of the agricultural research laboratory, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper handling of the facility.
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse collected data and test results
- Prepare simple reports, summaries, and recommendations based on findings
- Identify trends, issues, or improvement opportunities and propose practical solutions
- Work independently with minimal hand‑holding, demonstrating initiative and accountability
- Learn new methods, tools, and procedures while performing assigned tasks
- Proactively follow up on tasks, timelines, and deliverables
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate effectively in Mandarin with management, vendors, or external stakeholders
- Use English and Malay when liaising with plantation workers, technicians, and support teams
- Provide clear updates and explanations of findings when required.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Plantation Management, or related disciplines
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
Experience
- Prior internship or practical exposure in durian orchards and/or oil palm estates is highly advantageous
- Experience in field sampling, basic lab work, or plantation operations is a strong plus
- Comfortable with fieldwork, outdoor environments, and plantation conditions
- Willingness to travel frequently and perform hands‑on tasks
- Strong sense of ownership, discipline, and self‑initiative
- Ability to work independently while learning on the job
- Basic analytical and report‑writing skills
- Mandarin – Mandatory (to interact with stakeholders)
- English – Advantage
- Bahasa Malaysia – Advantage (especially for plantation‑level coordination)
