Who You Are:

We are seeking a skilled Failure Analysis Technician with hands‑on experience in executing failure investigations, operating analytical equipment, and supporting engineering teams in identifying root causes of product issues.

Position Summary:

Lumileds is seeking a highly qualified Failure Analysis Technician to support FA Engineers in conducting failure analysis and product testing to meet manufacturing and customer requirements.

In this role, you will assist in performing detailed analysis, consolidate results into clear and accurate reports, and support the upkeep of the Failure Analysis Lab by overseeing maintenance activities and performing equipment calibration to ensure optimal performance.

What You Will Do:

Provide hands‑on failure analysis (FA) support to manufacturing and engineering development teams, with a focus on focused ion beam (FIB) sample preparation and analysis.

Collaborate with FA Engineers to execute analysis workflows and support thorough investigations into product failures.

Operate, maintain, and perform calibrations on FIB systems and other FA equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Consolidate analysis results and contribute to the preparation of technical or FA reports, including background, analysis, findings, and potential root‑cause recommendations.

Perform routine preventive maintenance and manage consumables to ensure equipment uptime and lab efficiency.

Maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness in the Failure Analysis Lab by upholding 6S principles.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and cost efficiency within the FA Lab.

Assist in developing troubleshooting plans to enhance equipment utilization and reduce downtime.

What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications):

Technical Diploma from TAR College, Part 1 Engineering Council, BTEC HND, Government Polytechnic, or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in failure analysis or within an analytical laboratory environment.

Familiarity with failure analysis tools and techniques such as IV curve tracing, micro‑probing, optical microscopy, electroluminescence testing, chemical decapsulation, cross‑sectioning, SEM/EDX, and focused ion beam (FIB) systems.
