Job summary

A luxury hotel chain in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an F&B Supervisor for providing excellent service for events and functions. Qualifications

  • Excellent guest service skills and affinity for hospitality.
  • Strong interpersonal and personal presentation abilities.
  • Good understanding of food and beverage, knowledge of wine is a plus.
  • Experience with Micros Operating System preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Flexible schedule with availability on weekends and holidays.

F&B Supervisor – Banquet

F&B Supervisor - Banquet is a key member of the Food & Beverage team, dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service for large dinners, receptions and events in line with Four Seasons standards. The role involves anticipating guest needs, and delivering an expert beverage or dining experience.

Responsibilities
  • The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
  • Provide guests at events with an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience in line with Four Seasons standards.
  • Understand and execute the sequence of service for all events efficiently.
  • Anticipate and service guests’ requirements before requests arise.
  • Serve and clear food and beverages in an unobtrusive, professional manner.
  • Be familiar with wine and beverage service, including stemware and garnishes.
  • Be well-versed with all Food & Beverage offerings in the function spaces and confidently discuss other F&B areas with guests.
  • Train new employees according to the standard training manual.
  • Ensure all opening and closing side work duties are completed.
  • Supervise function rooms in the absence of the manager/assistant manager.
  • Handle and resolve guest concerns promptly and inform management as needed.
  • Promote a positive and healthy working environment within the department.
  • Inspect function spaces and take action as required.
  • Ensure tables are properly set, tabletop items are clean and polished, chairs are prepared, and spaces are defect-free.
  • Maintain vigilance during service to ensure efficient event operations and anticipate guest needs.
  • Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver.
  • Clear ashtrays, assist with cigarettes, and offer post-event drinks and cigars where appropriate.
  • Assess guest satisfaction and address issues, informing management of resolutions.
  • Respond to walk-outs and service any function needs.
  • Report accidents to a manager, immediately if minor or major.
  • Identify and address intoxicated or disruptive guests.
  • Respond appropriately to safety or hotel emergency situations.
  • Move tables and chairs as needed and break down buffets or side stations when required.
  • Clean service areas and surrounding event spaces as needed.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.

  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage; knowledge of wine is an advantage.
  • Ability to use Micros Operating System is an advantage.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and spoken English skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must have the right to work in Malaysia.
