A governmental regulatory body is seeking an Executive in Coordination & Implementation to oversee content moderation. The role entails analyzing content trends, developing actions for policy adherence, and ensuring efficiency in reporting. To oversee and monitor, assess, interpret and analyse content‑specific data and identify current conversation trends, extract information, create risk forecasting (monitor and action), and track all reports made/to be made to ensure up‑to‑date and follow‑through (resubmission and relook) until the content is taken down.
Proactive Monitoring:
Monitor, analyse and identify content on any new media platforms that may or have violated the written laws of Malaysia and flag for action in a timely manner.
Recognise trends and patterns and escalate issues.
Implement content monitoring activities, as well as monitoring key events and occurrences, to ensure high level of organizational awareness and speed reaction rate.
Proactively identify currently undetected misuse or abuse by leveraging internal data, open‑source intelligence and third‑party private intelligence.
Review sensitive content sometimes involving graphics and disturbing subject matter.
Develop recommendations on further courses of action based on analysis and assessment.
Prepare assessment and first information report (FIR)/blocking/memo for content takedown/escalation to other internal departments (platform provider) and MCMC management.
Produce and manage statistical data relating to new media in Malaysia, as and when assigned by the management.
Build clear documentation around ad‑hoc analyses, methodology, and data definitions for raw and munged data.
Gather, analyse and utilize relevant data to anticipate virality and potential backlash of any content to national security and public order, ensuring action to refer or escalated cases to other departments or other LEAs if necessary, as well as to develop ways to improve overall user experience.
Use market‑specific knowledge, signals and insights to spot and scope scalable solutions to improve the support of user community.
Use internal/external tools to review and flag user‑generated content (UGC) on the platform.
Mitigate within reasonable definitions any fraud, scams, or otherwise illegal activity occurring on UGC platforms.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Law, or other related qualifications from a recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and above.
Minimum 1–5 years working experience, with strong knowledge in technology and new media, as well sound understandings of legal and regulatory frameworks.
