About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Chinese Client Regulatory & Investment Compliance Specialist to join us in Kuala Lumpur office. This role is vital in supporting Chinese investors throughout the setup and compliance process—from obtaining manufacturing licenses and government approvals to managing tax compliance and import duty exemptions (if any)

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for Chinese clients investing in Malaysia, especially in the manufacturing and construction sectors.
  • Assist Chinese clients in navigating the investment process and key compliance requirements for setting up manufacturing operations in Malaysia
  • Provide professional advice during the factory establishment phase, including site selection, setup procedures, licensing, and permit applications
  • Liaise with government authorities (MIDA, CIDB, MITI, IRB, Immigration, Customs) on behalf of clients.
  • Ensure full corporate tax compliance, including preparation and submission of tax return, advise and submitting estimation of tax payable or revision of estimation of tax payable.
  • Provide bilingual support and culturally aligned guidance to ensure smooth communication and understanding between clients and local stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in consulting firm, accounting firm, law firms or government investment promotion agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian government incentive schemes, import/export regulations, and tax frameworks.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills with a deep understanding of Chinese enterprises’ overseas expansion and localization strategies
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work overtime occasionally and travel within Malaysia as required.
