Job description

We are seeking a senior enterprise leader for the role of Executive Vice President, Data Management, to lead and govern the organisation’s enterprise-wide data strategy, data governance framework, and analytics enablement agenda.

This role carries a group-level mandate and works closely with senior management and Board-level committees to ensure data is treated as a strategic, well-governed asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the enterprise data management and data governance strategy, covering: Data quality, Data ownership and stewardship, Metadata management and data lineage, Data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Establish and oversee a centralised Data Management / Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory, audit, and risk management requirements applicable to financial institutions.
• Partner with business leaders to enable data-driven decision making, analytics adoption, and AI readiness.
• Oversee enterprise data standards, policies, and controls across business units.
• Provide strategic advisory and reporting to senior management and Board / Board Committees.
• Lead, develop, and manage senior data, analytics, and governance professionals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related fields. (Postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

Minimum 15–20 years of experience, with significant exposure at senior leadership level (SVP / EVP / equivalent).

Proven track record in enterprise data management, data governance, and analytics, preferably within financial services or regulated industries.

Professional certifications in data management or data governance are required or strongly preferred, such as:

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) – Data Management Association International (DAM)
• Registered Professional Technologist (Ts.) – Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT)

Strong understanding of regulatory, risk, audit, and compliance expectations relating to data.

Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators, auditors, senior management, and Board stakeholders.

Strong leadership presence, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
