EV Charger Technical Support (Overseas)
Working Location: Mexico / Brazil (site-based, assigned by project)
Employment Type: Full-time
Position Summary: The EV Charger Technical Support role is an entry-level technical position supporting the installation, commissioning, and operation of EV charging stations in overseas markets. This role works under the guidance of senior engineers and provides hands‑on technical support at project sites, while gradually developing expertise in EV charging systems, electrical works, and platform integration.
This position is suitable for candidates who are early in their engineering career and willing to work overseas long‑term.
Key Responsibilities
- On‑site Technical Support
- Support installation and commissioning of AC and DC EV chargers under supervision.
- Assist with basic electrical checks such as cable connection, grounding, and phase sequence.
- Support on‑site testing activities after charger energization.
- Assist in identifying and reporting technical issues during site works.
- Commissioning & Testing Support
- Assist in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
- Support real vehicle charging tests and basic functional checks.
- Help record test results, photos, and commissioning data.
- Ensure test checklists and acceptance documents are properly filled.
- System & Communication Support
- Assist with EV charger connection to backend platforms via OCPP.
- Support basic charger configuration and parameter checking.
- Assist in testing network connectivity (LAN / 4G / 5G).
- Escalate software or communication issues to senior engineers or platform providers.
- Coordination & Communication
- Support coordination with:
- Local subcontractors and installers
- EV charger manufacturers
- Internal project and O&M teams
- Act as a site-level technical contact under senior supervision.
- Support communication across different cultures and time zones.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Assist in preparing and updating:
- Commissioning and SAT reports
- Site progress updates
- Basic fault and issue logs
- Ensure site records are accurate and well‑organized.
- Learning & Development
- Learn EV charger system architecture, electrical standards, and troubleshooting methods.
- Follow technical instructions, safety procedures, and company standards.
- Continuously improve technical and communication skills through on‑the‑job training.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related fields.
Technical Background (Junior Level)
- Basic understanding of low‑voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with electrical drawings and simple wiring diagrams is an advantage.
- Knowledge of EV chargers, renewable energy systems, or power equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn EV charging standards and systems.
Experience
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Fresh graduates with strong interest in EV charging or renewable energy are welcome.
Language Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English for internal reporting is an advantage.
- Chinese is preferred but not mandatory.
Soft Skills
- Willingness to work overseas for extended periods.
- Strong learning attitude and sense of responsibility.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety rules strictly.
Working Conditions
