A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking an Environmental Officer to ensure compliance with environmental laws and guidelines. The role involves conducting inspections, managing waste, and providing training to project personnel. Applicants should have a degree in Environmental Science and relevant competency certificates, along with at least 2 years of experience in environmental management. The position is based in Shah Alam, Selangor, with a contract period of 2 years, renewable based on performance.

Conduct environmental inspections and monitor compliance with Best Management Practices (BMPs) at project sites.
Ensure compliance with EQA1974 and other related acts/guidelines/instructions for the project site.
Manage scheduled wastes and ensure proper handling and disposal.
Conduct preparation for third-party environmental audits by the client/authorities.
Implement and monitor the Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015.
Provide environmental training to project personnel and promote environmental awareness.
Prepare project environmental management plan, monthly report, and any environmental checklists/documents, and submission to client/consultants as required.
Arrange for environmental quality monitoring by coordinating with lab technicians and submitting reports to clients.
Monitor and improve best management practices on site, including recycling and waste reduction.
Submit written notifications to the Department of Environment (DOE) regarding the genset and scheduled waste storage management.
Supervise the water truck for dust control for project site activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations at project sites.
Investigate and report any environmental emergencies or accidents at the project site.
Conduct environmental inspections and internal audits.
Implement all policies, activities, procedures, and instructions as relevant and required by ISO 14001:2005.
To oversee all aspects of the company for the environmental aspects of the project.
To prepare and implement emergency procedures and to ensure that they meet the requirements established by any environmental policy of the company/client.
To liaise with stakeholders, the client, and authorities in matters of environmental issues for the project.
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by management
Candidate should possess a Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
Candidate must possess CISEC or CESSWI or CePEOEIA competency certificate
Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental compliance and management, preferably in the construction industry
Applicants must be willing to work in Elmina West, Shah Alam, Selangor
Contract period: 2 years, renewable based on performance
Working hours: Monday-Friday (8 AM-5 PM), Saturday (8 AM-1 PM)
