Job Summary

UCSI Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that develop students’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. The successful candidate will foster a love for language and literature while supporting students’ academic and personal growth within an internationally-minded school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons (Lower and/or Upper Secondary) aligned with the school’s curriculum framework (e.g., Cambridge IGCSE, national curriculum, or equivalent).
  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments that develop students’ language skills, literary analysis, and effective communication.
  • Foster a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and confident self-expression.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate real-world contexts, cross-curricular links, and contemporary texts to make learning relevant and meaningful.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence, share best practices, and contribute to continuous school improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, prepare progress reports, and communicate proactively with parents and guardians.
  • Promote a positive classroom culture that supports respect, responsibility, and academic excellence.
