We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager (Frontend) to lead and oversee the technical execution of our product roadmap across three key areas: GetGo, FMS, and ZipZap. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality delivery of technical projects, managing the GetGo group of engineers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering execution with business priorities.

Job responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage the GetGo group of engineers, including Technical Leads, Senior Engineers, and Junior Engineers.
  • Provide guidance to Technical Leads, and engineers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and project priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture with strong emphasis on mentorship, growth, and technical excellence.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, career development discussions, goal setting, and performance reviews.
  • Support professional growth through coaching, constructive feedback, and tailored learning opportunities.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety within the engineering team.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the technical execution of the product roadmap across GetGo, FMS, and ZipZap.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and the Director of Engineering to assess the feasibility and scope of features and enhancements.
  • Provide guidance on system architecture, design decisions, and implementation strategies to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Make key decisions on resource allocation, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term technical sustainability.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural principles, and best practices.

Technical Vision & Strategy:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our mobile and web platforms, along with domain-specific challenges
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define long-term technical strategies, architectural evolution, and innovation roadmaps.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies that support innovation and scalability.
  • Align mobile and web architectural decisions with broader platform and organizational goals.

Strategic Collaboration:

  • Participate in Quarterly OKR Planning, contributing to:
    • Feature complexity and effort estimation.
    • Resource and capacity planning.
    • Risk assessment and mitigation planning.
    • Align engineering efforts with business goals by working closely with Product Managers to prioritize features based on impact, feasibility, and timelines.
    • Manage JIRA projects and boards, ensuring transparency in progress tracking and delivery health.

Delivery Management:

  • Drive on-time delivery of features, enhancements, and technical improvements.
  • Track progress against quarterly OKRs and proactively communicate status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and bottlenecks and coordinate solutions across engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Ensure proper testing, release, and monitoring processes are followed for both mobile and web platforms.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously improve engineering processes to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and quality.
  • Advocate and enforce best practices in software development, including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
  • Champion performance optimization, application security, and accessibility standards.
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven development practices, including A/B testing, feature flagging, and analytics integration.

Job requirements

  • Minimum nine (9) years of experience in mobile development, including four (4) years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-quality consumer-facing applications from concept to production.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack compose, MAD) development.
  • Experience with mobile architectures such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
  • Strong proficiency with SOLID principles and various design patterns.
  • Familiarity with API integration (REST, GraphQL) and backend-frontend interfacing.
  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks- Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) preferred.
  • Proven experience driving architectural reviews and ensuring adherence to performance, security, and quality standards.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, mobile release processes, and testing strategies.
  • Knowledge of mobile performance optimization, security best practices, and profiling.
  • Experience in web development using React is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, tooling, and automation is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience applying them in product delivery.

Leadership & Collaboration Skills:

  • Demonstrated success managing diverse, multi-level engineering teams.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence, align, and build consensus across engineering, product management, and leadership teams.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under time pressure.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to provide clear input during planning sessions regarding feasibility, timelines, complexity levels, and resource needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in mobility technology or transportation-related industries.
  • Familiarity with OKR frameworks for goal setting and tracking progress.
  • Experience in the mobility, transportation, or logistics tech domain.
  • Prior experience building or scaling high-availability, high-traffic consumer mobile apps.
  • Exposure to mobile analytics, A/B testing, and data-driven product iteration.
