A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineering leader to supervise and develop engineering teams, ensuring compliance with quality standards and promoting a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering fields, possess 5–8 years of supervisory experience, and be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft AX. This role includes driving continuous improvement initiatives and providing technical guidance to team members.
Responsible for defining and addressing engineering and operational challenges through systematic problem analysis, research, interpretation, and application of technical information. Leads the development of solutions, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and makes informed technical and business decisions to support organizational objectives. The role includes supervision, coaching, and development of engineering team members.
Lead, supervise, and develop engineering team members by providing technical guidance, performance management, coaching, and day-to-day oversight.
Lead and oversee the development, review, and control of all engineering documentation, including schematic diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), First Article Inspection (FAI), work instructions, and technical standards.
Establish and enforce engineering best practices, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all engineering outputs.
Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering team
Ensure full compliance with internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
Act as the primary engineering liaison with customers on technical, and process-related issues, including root cause analysis
Drive structured problem-solving initiatives to achieve technical and process improvements across production and engineering operations.
Provide process engineering support to production, including tooling design, testing methodologies, calibration programs, preventive maintenance planning, and equipment optimization.
Lead production process optimization initiatives, applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and execute technical training programs to strengthen internal capabilities, including IPC standards and industry best practices, for technicians, line leaders, subcontractors, and engineering team members.
Ensure effective knowledge transfer and continuous technical competency development within the engineering and production teams.
Ensure compliance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies within engineering.
Promote a strong safety culture by integrating HSE considerations into engineering design, process development, and daily operations.
Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics / Electromechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft AX, with the ability to review, guide, and approve technical outputs prepared by team members.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant working experience in engineering or manufacturing environments, including proven experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Strong ability to translate customer requirements into technical and operational solutions while balancing quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Solid problem-solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills, with the ability to lead technical improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated capability in coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering team members.
Proactive and adaptable, with a strong willingness to embrace new technologies, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferably experienced in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with exposure to cross‑functional and multidisciplinary engineering environments.
