Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in industrial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Experience with MCCs, pumps, VFDs, and control panels preferred.
  • Experience in water or wastewater treatment plants is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on electrical troubleshooting, repair, installation, testing, and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in LV systems, MCC panels, pumps, VFDs, PLC wiring, and control circuits.
  • Follow safety procedures and comply with Malaysian regulations.

Skills

Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Knowledge of industrial electrical safety standards
Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and basic English

Education

Job Summary

The Electrical Technician performs hands‑on electrical troubleshooting, repair, installation, testing, and preventive maintenance at client sites, including water and wastewater treatment plants. The role supports service assignments and ensures all electrical work complies with Malaysian regulations and company safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair faults in LV systems, MCC panels, pumps, VFDs, PLC wiring, and control circuits.
  • Use electrical testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and clamp meters.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics accurately.
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
  • Perform installation, wiring, modification, and testing of electrical systems and components.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in testing and commissioning under supervision.
  • Perform sensor and instruments calibration.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, Malaysian Wiring Regulations, Akta Bekalan Elektrik, and DOSH guidelines.
  • Adhere to LOTO procedures, PPE rules, and site safety practices.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and hazard identification activities.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare service reports, maintenance checklists, and troubleshooting logs.
  • Provide timely updates to supervisors on job status and issues.
  • Record as‑built updates for wiring modifications.
Tools, Materials & Worksite Preparation
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools and electrical instruments.
  • Confirm availability of materials and tools before work begins.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.
Qualifications
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics / Mechatronics.
  • Chargeman AO/A1 certification is an added advantage.
Experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in industrial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Experience with MCCs, pumps, VFDs, and control panels preferred.
  • Experience in water or wastewater treatment plants is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
