Job summary

A leading glove manufacturer is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician/Engineer to oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical systems at their petrochemical plant in Banting, Malaysia. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of hands-on experience, preferably in the petrochemical industry. This role requires the ability to work shifts and might necessitate relocation. Your Mission

Supervise the installation of electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems, ensuring they meet design specifications.

Lead commissioning activities, including testing and validation of systems to ensure proper functionality before plant start-up.

Create and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and diagrams for electrical and instrumentation systems.

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of electrical systems and instrumentation devices (such as sensors, controllers, and transmitters).

Ensure all systems comply with industry standards, local regulations, and safety protocols, including hazardous area classifications.

Implement advanced control strategies (DCS, PLC, SCADA) to enhance operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and improve process reliability.

Manage electrical and instrumentation aspects of new projects or upgrades, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.

Prepare project documentation including technical reports, progress updates, and budget forecasts.

Provide technical support to plant operations teams regarding electrical and instrumentation issues.

What we are looking for

Holds at least a Degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, including handling high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems.

Proven experience working in the petrochemical, oleo chemical or oil & gas industry is highly preferred.

Ability to work on a shift basis as required by the operational demands.

Strong understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex systems.

Willingness to relocate or work in Banting.
