Job description

YPS TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. is seeking a talented Electrical & Electronic Engineer to join our team in Penang. In this full‑time position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving electrical and electronic systems used in the company’s products and equipment. The role involves providing technical support to production, troubleshooting electrical issues, ensuring product quality and compliance, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams for continuous improvement. The engineer will also assist in new product introduction (NPI), machine upgrades, preventive maintenance planning, and ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and improve electrical and electronic circuits for production equipment and company products.
• Provide technical support to the production floor by troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and automation‑related issues.
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Develop and update wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and circuit schematics.
• Assist in new product development, prototype testing, and validation activities.
• Ensure all electrical and electronic components comply with industry standards and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with the Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and timely problem resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis for electrical faults and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance tasks related to electrical and electronic systems.
• Evaluate new components, tools, and technology for potential improvement or cost savings.
• Prepare engineering reports, documentation, and technical specifications.
• Train production operators and technicians on basic electrical troubleshooting and safety practices.

What we looking for

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in electrical/electronic engineering, preferably in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
• Knowledge of automation systems, PLC fundamentals, sensors, and control systems is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with ISO standards, ESD control, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements (OSH, electrical compliance).
• Experienced with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Altium, SolidWorks Electrical – optional).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
• Hands‑on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical testing tools.
• Able to work independently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
