Job description

Serves as the link between the customers (interpreting their needs) and our production (understanding our manufacturing processes) to develop product specifications/drawings that meet quality, cost and delivery targets. Designs and prepares drawings for all products and undertakes specific projects with the aim of improving design efficiency and quality.

Representative Major Functions

• Design Process
  • Continuous development on existing product specifications & design rules & establishing new product design rules from time to time. Perform design work independently & act as a lead-trainer to all design personnel.
• Applications
  • Liaison directly with Sales/customers to define product specifications, and follow-up on completed work to resolve technical issues, improve specifications, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
• Manufacturing
  • Liaison closely with manufacturing to ensure that designs are manufacturability to quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Equipment
  • Uses AutoCAD and other PC - based programs for design and documentations work. Care and keep good maintenance of all D&D equipment.
• Projects
  • Undertakes projects assigned by superior with the objective of providing good solutions to meet both in-house & customer requirements.
• Training
  • Acts as the lead trainer to design and/or drafting personnel on products or design rules in their area of specialization.

Additional Responsibilities

• Travel: travels on a routine basis to customers within the region.

• Attend necessary job related trainings as required in training matrix.
