Our client is seeking a Contract Manager (Pre-Tender / QS–Estimator Background – Electrical) to join their team!

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing electrical contracting company where you'll play a pivotal role in securing successful bids and driving business growth. As a Contract Manager, you'll lead the critical pre-tender and pre-contract phases of electrical projects, combining your quantity surveying expertise with commercial acumen to deliver competitive and profitable bids. You'll be at the forefront of strategic decision-making, working with cutting-edge electrical systems and technologies.

What you'll be doing?

Cost Estimation & Financial Planning: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for electrical works, developing detailed pricing models and value engineering solutions that ensure competitive positioning while maintaining profitability.

Tendering Excellence: Manage the complete tendering process from preparation to submission, ensuring all client requirements are meticulously addressed and coordinated with procurement teams for optimal outcomes.

Technical Assessment: Conduct thorough reviews of technical specifications and drawings, identifying risks and ensuring compliance while collaborating with engineering teams to align technical solutions with commercial strategies.

Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors, facilitating smooth communication and supporting senior management in bid presentations and negotiations.

Documentation & Analysis: Prepare detailed bid summaries, maintain accurate tender records, and provide insightful reports on pipeline opportunities and success rates to inform strategic decisions.

Who are they looking for?

Educational Foundation: You have a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field that provides strong technical and commercial understanding.

Specialized Experience: You have proven experience as an Estimator, QS, or Pre-Contract Manager specifically in electrical contracting or M&E sectors, demonstrating your expertise in this specialized field.

Technical Knowledge: You possess strong knowledge of tendering processes, estimation techniques, and electrical systems that enables you to deliver accurate and competitive bids.

Analytical Skills: You have excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in estimation software and MS Office, particularly Excel for complex calculations and modeling.

Communication Excellence: You demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills with exceptional attention to detail, essential for managing complex tender requirements and stakeholder relationships.

Language Proficiency: You are fluent in English and Mandarin, enabling effective communication with diverse clients and stakeholders across the Malaysian market and regional projects.

Performance Management: You can effectively manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational and time management capabilities.
