A leading marketing firm in Malaysia seeks a Content Lead to shape content direction and strategy. The ideal candidate will own the editorial strategy, developing and managing content across key platforms to enhance brand presence and support product launches. Success requires excellent writing skills in English and Chinese, along with a proven track record in content planning and execution. This role offers comprehensive benefits and the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment.
As the Content Lead, you will be the central owner of Elken’s content direction—shaping our editorial strategy, planning always-on and campaign content, and ensuring high-quality execution across channels. You will lead end-to-end content development from insight and briefing to production and publishing, ensuring content is on-brand, on-time, and effective.
This role sits within the Marketing Communications team and partners closely with Product Marketing, Digital, and Sales/Distributor leadership, to deliver content that strengthens brand presence, supports product launches, and empowers our distributor network.
Own Elken’s content strategy and editorial direction across brand, product, recruitment, and event storytelling.
Translate business objectives into content themes, messaging pillars, and channel-specific content approaches.
Develop and maintain an editorial roadmap (quarterly/monthly) aligned with launches and business priorities.
Build and manage always-on and campaign content calendars across key platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, website, app, CRM).
Plan content formats and requirements (copy, design, video, landing pages, distributor toolkits), ensuring the right content is produced at the right time.
Coordinate content briefs, timelines, review cycles, and publishing schedules with internal stakeholders and vendors.
Lead the creation and delivery of high-impact content and materials such as product brochures, videos, POSM, landing pages, event toolkits, and recruitment assets.
Ensure content is practical and duplicable for leaders/distributors (clear structure, templates, usage guidance).
Drive quality control across writing, editing, translation/localisation, and final production—ensuring consistent tone, clarity, and accuracy.
Act as a brand voice “keeper” and content guardian—ensuring consistent messaging, tone, terminology, and visual standards across touchpoints.
Maintain content guidelines (brand voice, style guide, glossary, do/don’t list) and enforce approvals and content QA standards.
Partner with Compliance/Legal (where applicable) to ensure claims and messaging meet requirements.
Write, edit, and polish content in English and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional as per business needs).
Ensure translations/localised content preserve meaning, tone, and brand voice—not just literal translation.
Review agency/vendor outputs for language quality and brand alignment.
Support product/project launches by owning content workstreams: messaging, content plans, key assets, toolkits, and launch content sequencing.
Coordinate with Digital/Performance teams to ensure content supports the funnel (awareness → consideration → conversion → loyalty).
Track and report content performance (engagement, CTR, video retention, leads contribution, landing page metrics).
Use insights to optimise content angles, formats, cadence, and channel execution.
Share learnings and best practices to uplift content standards across teams.
Brief and manage designers, videographers, copywriters, agencies, and printers to deliver content within scope and deadlines.
Align stakeholders across Product, Sales, Digital, and Events to ensure smooth execution and clear approvals.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, or related field.
4–6 years in content, marketing communications, or integrated marketing roles, with proven ownership of content planning and execution.
Experience supporting product launches and multi-channel campaigns is strongly preferred.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
Strong capability in content strategy, editorial planning, and end-to-end execution management.
Strong stakeholder management: can translate inputs into clear briefs and drive alignment across teams.
High attention to detail and strong taste level for brand voice, structure, and clarity.
Working knowledge of social platforms and content formats (short video, carousel, long-form, landing pages).
Comfortable collaborating with digital/performance teams; basic understanding of SEO and funnel content is a plus.
Organised, proactive, and deadline-driven; able to manage multiple workstreams without sacrificing quality.
Able to lead content projects and guide vendors/partners with clear feedback.
