Commercial Director - Chemical Raw Materials

Our client is a chemical trading and distribution company dedicated to delivering high-quality raw materials and specialty chemicals to industries such as manufacturing, plastics, mining, agrochemicals, oil & gas and more. They are now looking for Commercial Managers as part of their plans to grow their presence across the international market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing commercial strategy for the assigned trading portfolio, essentially taking ownership of a business unit within the company.
  • Responsible for managing commercial aspects of the business unit to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Develop detailed market plan, including establishing supplier and customer acquisition and retention strategies, contract negotiations, pricing models and long term business strategy.
  • Providing leadership to the sales team, to drive strong performance of products being traded.
  • Maintain market intelligence on competitors, market-moving events, and potential trade disruptions.
  • Proactively design and implement swift, creative counter‑strategies to capture market share.
  • Establish and leverage professional network across traders, logistics partners, and key market influencers to secure critical market intelligence and facilitate high‑value deals.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience managing and directing a high‑performing Sales function within the chemical raw materials industry.
  • Experienced in strategic market planning and complex contract negotiations.
  • Proven track record of building, mentoring, and motivating sales teams to contribute to the overall P&L performance.
  • Sharp business acumen with high level of self‑driven motivation.
  • Strong network of counterparties in raw materials industry.
