Chief Financial Officer (Public Listed Manufacturer)

We are representing our client a public listed manufacturing group in Malaysia with a strong track record of growth and operational excellence. With diversified business segments and a solid presence in both local and international markets, the company continues to expand through innovation, strategic investments, and continuous improvement initiatives. As the organisation enters its next growth phase, they are seeking a strategic CFO to strengthen financial leadership and support long‑term value creation.

Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the Group’s overall financial strategy, corporate governance, and long‑term business performance. The CFO provides strategic leadership in financial planning, capital management, risk management, and operational finance to support the Group’s growth objectives, profitability, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership

Develop and lead the Group’s financial strategy, ensuring strong financial performance, transparency, and compliance.

Provide strategic financial insights to the Board, Managing Director and Executive Committee to support business decisions, growth opportunities, and operational improvements.

Lead long‑term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.

2. Bursa Listing Compliance & Governance

Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, and reporting to meet Main Market standards.

Lead and manage the Main Market uplift exercise, including:

  • Coordination with auditors, advisors, and investment banks
  • Enhancement of internal controls and compliance frameworks
  • Support in prospectus/submission documentation

Ensure full compliance with:

  • Bursa Listing Requirements
  • Securities Commission (SC) guidelines
  • Corporate governance best practices

Oversee timely, accurate, and transparent regulatory disclosures, including quarterly reports, announcements, and circulars.

3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Drive annual budgeting processes across subsidiaries and business units.

Establish strong FP&A frameworks, including variance analysis, performance metrics, and business reviews.

Analyse financial results and trends to identify improvement opportunities and strategic risks.

4. Financial Operations & Reporting

Oversee Group financial reporting, consolidation, and month‑end/year‑end closing.

Ensure compliance with MFRS, Bursa/Listing Requirements (if applicable), statutory regulations, and internal governance standards.

Strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

5. Treasury & Cashflow Management

Monitor Group cashflow, liquidity, and working capital to support business stability and expansion.

Optimise banking relationships, credit facilities, financing structures, and interest cost management.

Lead capital allocation planning, including investment evaluation, CAPEX control, and returns analysis.

Establish and maintain a robust enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.

Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks while implementing mitigation actions.

Ensure adherence to corporate governance, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

7. Corporate Finance & Strategic Projects

Lead corporate finance activities including M&A evaluations, due diligence, fundraising, and strategic investments.

Support business expansion plans such as new facilities, product lines, automation, and digitalisation.

Drive cost optimisation, operational efficiency, and financial improvement initiatives across the Group.

8. Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management

Develop and execute investor relations strategies to strengthen market visibility and investor confidence.

Manage communications and engagement with key stakeholders, including analysts, institutional investors, investment banks, and regulators.

Represent the Group in analyst briefings, shareholder meetings, investor roadshows, and public disclosure sessions.

Ensure consistent, accurate, and transparent communication of the Group’s financial performance, strategy, and outlook.

Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA.
Experience
  • Minimum 15 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in senior leadership (CFO/Group Financial Controller) roles.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, industrial or engineering industries.
  • Proven experience in financial strategy, FP&A, corporate finance, and managing multi‑entity group structures.
  • Familiarity with Bursa listing requirements and corporate governance.
  • Strong financial acumen with excellent strategic thinking and decision‑making capability.
  • Hands‑on leadership with the ability to develop teams and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, treasury, internal controls, taxation, and corporate governance.
  • High integrity, resilience, and commitment to transparency and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills for Board‑level reporting and external stakeholder engagement.
