Responsibilities

• To comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety licensing.
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance work, new projects, and renovations.
• Continuously monitor the responsible use of energy and implement cost-saving measures.
• Prepare the Engineering budget and provide input into strategic planning.
• Provide mechanical and electrical servicing and maintenance efficiently.
• Carry out continuous inspections to maintain guest comfort.
• Ensure all maintenance requests are prioritized and addressed promptly.
• Develop a team of proficient technicians for maintenance and repairs.
• Act as a Project Manager for major projects with external contractors.
• Attend seminars and exhibitions to stay updated in the Engineering field.
• Provide training on waste handling and report data.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety and security standards.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To comply with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety licensing and provide all necessary safety equipment required for work to be carried out efficiently and safely.
• Plan and manage all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions and renovations.
• Continuously monitor the responsible use of energy in the hotel and implement measures resulting in energy cost savings.
• Prepare the Engineering budget for the property and provide Engineering input into hotel strategic and operational planning exercises.
• Provide in‑house mechanical and electrical servicing, repair and maintenance using well‑trained, presentable personnel carrying out maintenance works in an efficient, discreet and guest‑friendly manner.
• Carry out continuous inspections to ensure the highest level of guest comfort is maintained and that all services are in proper working condition.
• Ensure that all maintenance requests are prioritised and dealt with efficiently.
• Develop a team of technically proficient and generally helpful technicians to carry out all maintenance and repair work to standard with technical specifications.
• Act as a Project Manager between the hotel and outside contractors or technical services on major projects.
• Attend seminars and technical exhibitions and read relevant publications to keep up to date in the Engineering field.
• Provide training and awareness of waste handling, and report waste data.
• Ensure the resort is kept according to Bomba standards for fire safety and security.
