Job summary

A well-known manufacturing and distribution MNC in Penang is seeking a Buyer to manage end-to-end procurement and production planning. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in merchandising, purchasing, or logistics, alongside knowledge of ERP systems. Strong command of English and Mandarin is necessary to meet business needs. This is a permanent position, with the candidate required to work in either Penang or Selangor.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in merchandising, purchasing, stock planning, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Good command in English and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement and production planning for timely delivery.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and optimize inventory levels.

  • Oversee stock control and ERP updates.

Mode of work - Permanent position

Job Description
  • Manage end-to-end procurement and production planning to ensure timely delivery and continuous supply to customers.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, execute purchasing and production plans, and optimize inventory levels to balance service and cost.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers, production teams, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery, quality, pricing, and supply issues.
  • Oversee stock control, ERP updates, vendor management, supplier performance evaluation, claims handling, and ISO-related reporting.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives, provide guidance to junior staff, and perform additional tasks or special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • 3 years working experience in area of merchandising/purchasing/stock planning/logistics.
  • Knowledge in ERP system is an advantage.
  • Good command in English & Mandarin to accommodate business needs.
  • Relevant experience with ERP/MRP especially in Microsoft AX will be an added advantage.

Client has two offices - Penang & Selangor. Candidate MUST be able to work at EITHER ONE of these offices.
