Role Profile

Business Development and Enrichment Manager

The Business Development and Enrichment Manager leads the commercial development of ancillary activities across 14 Malaysian schools, whilst supporting the development of ISP’s enrichment brand in Thailand and Vietnam. The role has a strong focus on enrichment activities such as ECAs, School Trips, International Programmes, Summer School, After School Care, Saturday School, STEM Programmes and Rentals/Room Hire. The post-holder identifies and embeds new business opportunities, strengthens vendor partnerships and optimises existing commercial agreements and financial processes to drive sustainable, region-wide growth.

This is a regional role, reporting to the Regional Finance Director - Malaysia, while working closely with Director of Business Development Asia to drive ambitious ancillary income growth targets. The role suits someone who can lead confidently across diverse teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate clearly with internal and external partners. Strong data literacy is essential, with the ability to translate insights into commercial decisions and actionable plans for schools across all enrichment activities.

Business Development and Enrichment Manager – Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibility 1: New Business and Partnership Development

  • Identify and explore new opportunities across enrichment categories such as ECAs, Trips, International Programmes, Summer School, ASC, Saturday School, Cyber/Tech Fees, and Facility Hire.
  • Source potential partners/vendors and assess their suitability for regional or school-level adoption.
  • Develop simple proposals and recommendations for new initiatives based on trends, demand, and school needs.
  • Build positive relationships with prospective partners and support schools through early conversations and due diligence.
  • Support the development of ISP Activate, ISP’s enrichment brand that is scheduled to be rolled out in ISP schools across Asia.

Key Responsibility 2: Optimisation of Existing Programmes and Commercial Agreements

  • Review current ancillary activity levels, vendor contracts and commercial arrangements to identify areas for improvement and better value.
  • Work with existing providers and school stakeholders to strengthen programme quality, participation, and financial performance.
  • Establish consistent processes, templates, and standards to professionalise enrichment operations across schools.
  • Share insights and best practices across schools to ensure known opportunities are captured including programme quality improvements, pricing/margins, and vendor management.

Key Responsibility 3: School-level Implementation and Roll-out Support

  • Create clear rollout plans, guides, and toolkits to help schools implement new initiatives smoothly.
  • Work with key stakeholders (Principals, Operations, Marketing, Finance) to embed programmes sustainably and consistently.
  • Visit schools to offer practical support on scheduling, pricing, programme design, and parent communications.
  • Coordinate marketing support and facilitate cross-school sharing of ideas and successful approaches.

Stakeholders

  • Regional: Finance team, Facilities, Procurement, Admissions and Business Development team.
  • Schools: Campus Principals, Sports and Enrichment leads, Marketing, Finance.
  • External: Vendor-partners, suppliers, internal/external parents (customers).

Line Management

  • Reporting to Postholder: Dotted-line reporting from school-level Business Development staff and Sports/Enrichment staff.
  • The Business Develop and Enrichment Manager reports to the Regional Finance Director, with indirect reporting to the Regional Managing Director and Director of Business Development Asia.
Experience and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing or developing enrichment or ancillary programmes (e.g., ECAs, camps, trips, academies, extended day services).
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot new opportunities, evaluate potential partners, and improve the value of existing agreements.
  • Confident working with data — able to interpret participation trends, revenue performance to make sensible, practical recommendations.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders (Principals, Finance, Operations, Marketing) and guiding teams through new programme roll-outs.
  • Highly organised and able to manage several initiatives across different schools simultaneously.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and optimising commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, partnership MOUs, and facility hire arrangements.
  • Ability to draft clear ancillary programme agreements (commercial terms, pricing, service levels, deliverables, compliance needs) that are structured and prepared for Legal review.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and support across schools and external partners.
  • Experience in negotiating terms, margins, and service expectations with enrichment providers and facility partners.
  • Ability to create simple, clear processes, toolkits, and guides that help school teams execute initiatives consistently.
