Job Summary

The Business Development Account Manager is responsible for driving commercial growth and market share expansion for BD’s Specimen Management Portfolio in a designated territory in Malaysia. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and delivering value through BD’s innovative pre-analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute business development plans to grow the Specimen Management portfolio across various sectors, including B2B, research, private and public healthcare institutes.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities including tenders, strategic partnerships, and key account conversions.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to align local strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including laboratory managers, procurement teams, and clinical decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product presentations, and solution-based discussions to drive portfolio adoption.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with strategic accounts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Position BD’s Specimen Management solutions as the standard for quality and efficiency in specimen collection and transport.
  • Support marketing initiatives including workshops, webinars, and product launches.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
  • Provide feedback to global teams on product performance, customer needs, and market dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare sales, business development, or account management.
  • Proven track record in managing complex customer relationships and driving commercial success.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and diagnostic processes is a plus.
