The BIM Modeller is responsible for developing, updating, and coordinating Building Information Models (BIM) for construction specialise in mechanical projects. This role ensures accurate 2D/3D modelling, clash detection, and the preparation of detailed construction drawings in accordance with project requirements, company standards, and BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update 3D BIM models using Revit / AutoCAD / Navisworks or other BIM platforms.
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Generate plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and details from the BIM model.
- Maintain model accuracy, levels of detail (LOD), and compliance with project standards.
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks, Revit or similar tools.
- Highlight conflicts, propose solutions, and support the coordination team in resolving issues.
- Ensure all modelling follows BIM Execution Plan (BEP), company standards, and project specifications.
- Maintain model structure, naming conventions, worksets, and file management protocols.
- Perform model audits and quality checks before issuing drawings.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, consultants, and contractors.
- Assist Project Managers and BIM Coordinators with model updates, revisions, and technical inputs.
- Attend coordination meetings when required to support design decision‑making.
- Produce BIM reports, clash reports, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation for revisions, approvals, and drawing submissions.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of BIM modelling experience in Mechanical.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and building systems.
- Knowledge of LOD requirements, coordinate systems, and modelling techniques.
- Familiarity with local codes and industry standards (if applicable).

- Detail‑oriented, organised, and able to meet deadlines.
- Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to learn new tools.
