Requirements
  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) specialising in Malay Language or Language and Literature.
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience in Bahasa Melayu at primary and secondary level.
  • Experienced teaching in an international school setting is an advantage.
  • Strong command of Bahasa Melayu and English.
  • Ability to design creative, engaging lessons suitable for young learners.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Bahasa Melayu lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning standards.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to support students of mixed abilities, including EAL learners.
  • Prepare age‑appropriate learning materials, resources, and assessments.
  • Integrate technology, interactive activities, and cultural elements to enhance learning.
  • Monitor, assess, and provide timely feedback on students’ progress.
Classroom Management
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Establish clear routines and expectations to support learning.
  • Manage student behaviour positively and effectively according to school policies.
Assessment & Reporting
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments to track progress.
  • Record and analyse student performance data.
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate clearly with parents during conferences or meetings.
Student Support
  • Provide additional support or intervention for students who require extra help.
  • Encourage confidence, creativity, and a love for the Malay language.
  • Promote cultural understanding through language‑based activities and events.
Professional Duties
  • Participate in planning meetings, department discussions, and whole‑school initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum consistency and cross‑curricular integration.
  • Attend professional development sessions to continuously improve teaching skills.
  • Support school events, celebrations, and co‑curricular activities upon request.
